Coldwast
About & editorial policy
What this site is
Coldwast is an independent collection of original, regularly-updated programming guides. The current focus is the Haskell and Cabal build toolchain, expanding over time into the broader developer stack — build performance, tooling and deployment.
About this domain's history
The domain coldwa.st was previously a personal Haskell blog. That site is gone; the domain was acquired after it expired and is now an independent programming-resources project under new, separate editorship.
Because the domain was historically associated with high-quality Haskell/Cabal writing, we continue to publish on those topics — but the guides here are new, original works, rewritten for the current toolchain and maintained by the Coldwast editorial team. They are not authored by, signed by, or affiliated with the domain's previous owner, and no prior content is reproduced. Where a guide updates a topic the domain once covered, it says so plainly.
Editorial honesty
- No invented benchmarks, ratings, testimonials or "trusted by" claims. Technical statements describe documented, verifiable behaviour of the tools.
- No impersonation. Author identity is the independent Coldwast team, never any individual the domain was formerly linked to.
- Guides are dated and carry a "last updated" date; toolchain facts that have changed since the original era are flagged with their current status.
Affiliate disclosure
Some future guides (hosting, deployment, learning resources, tools) may contain affiliate links. When they do, it will be disclosed on the page, links will use rel="sponsored", and recommendations will reflect genuine technical merit — never paid placement that distorts the advice. No affiliate relationship influences the technical content.
